Ripple - Short description / Kurzbeschreibung

What is Ripple?

Ripple can be viewed simply as the bitcoin for banks. Compared to Bitcoin and Etherum, Ripple is much faster and better scalable. While e.g. Bitcoin can process 3-6 transactions per second (and a payment requires more than 1 hour) Ripple processes approximately 1,000 transactions per second and handles payments within 4 seconds. Thus the performance of Ripple is comparable to that of VISA. Ripple allows the exchange of digital goods in real time.

Was is Ripple?

Ripple kann vereinfacht gesagt als das Bitcoin für Banken angesehen werden. Im Vergleich mit Bitcoin und Etherum gibt Ripple an deutlich schneller und besser skalierbar zu sein. Während z.B. Bitcoin 3-6 Transaktionen pro Sekunde abwickeln kann (und eine Zahlung somit mehr als 1 Stunde benötigt) verarbeitet Ripple ca. 1.000 Transaktionen pro Sekunde und wickelt Zahlungen innerhalt von 4 Sekunden ab. Somit ist die Performance von Ripple vergleichbar mit der von VISA. Ripple ermöglicht somit den Austausch von digitalen Gütern in Echtzeit.
