I don't personally own Ethereum Classic so I won't be recommending it. However, one thing to understand is that the performance of the Grayscale Fund and Bitcoin may not be the same. Grayscale has already purchased large amounts of Bitcoin, therefore as they sell more shares, they may not be purchasing more Bitcoin (until they need to). Due to this, and the fact that there is a lot of money in stocks that is interested to move to cryptocurrency, the fund has experienced far greater growth than Bitcoin has lately.
On top of faster growth than the current market, the fund offers value because you do not have to actually hold or secure your Bitcoin. They manage that for you until the time that you decide to sell your shares.

I tried to explain crypto's to my mom. I had to make her understand the very money she is using now is fictional numbers on a computer that people we don't like control. Crypto's are on the same computers but no one can decrease purchasing power. They are more stable, then our current Ponzi scheme.
Also with crypto's our work is worth what we receive. This bothers me more then anything. That a person can work year after year the same job with the same pay but the ability to buy the same things diminishes year after year. Out right theft. Crypto's take that theft feature away.

I've tried explaining crypto currency to my immediate family, this is how it went. Dad's like I want to you get returns first. Mum's like, I believe in you but make sure you get a job too. Sibling's like, dude I don't believe in this thing but if you've something for me to do then I'd do it for fun. Girlfriend's like, "omg you can write and people would drop credit ?? ". I do not know how to react towards my family either, I understand how you feel. Laugh it off y'all. Cheers!
