BTC/BCC/USD Converter Made in Python! (Warning - NOT an expert programmer)

in cryptocurrency •  7 years ago

Hello, world!

If any of you homies are at all interested in programming, I recently made a BTC/BCC/USD converter in Python! Can't I just google the price? Of course I can. Can't I just multiply my BTC amount by the BTC price on my phone? Sure. I had a lot of fun making it though!

I made a Github. Sort of. I have never used it before, and I was too excited to share this to figure out logistics. Apologies!

preview ;) (please feel free to tear it apart. I know most people could make this in like 10 minutes. I'm working on it though)

Disclaimers - I am not an expert programmer. I am not a novice programmer. I am honestly not even a programmer. I just think its interesting and wanted to share one of my most recent little projects with those who are interested! I wrote the converter in Python 3 using PyCharm. What I didn't realize, however, is that I have several ~projects~ within my folder that I wrote the converter in. These range from a "Guess the number" game, a grade cruncher I made freshman year, a Binary/Decimal converter (surprisingly useful in my summer EEE lab), and of course the Bitcoin converter! Although I could have probably figured out how to take out all my other projects, I figured it might give some insight / ideas for new programmers to start making useful things!

If you are a programmer, please feel free to edit any of my code, make it your own, make it better. I realize I probably made many mistakes in it. I hope, one day, to write ~beautiful~ code. If you are new to programming or just interested in what a simple converter looks like, have at it!

Happy crypto, cheers to all.
