A type of digital currency that is supported by blockchain technology, cryptocurrency can be described as cryptocurrency. It can be used as a means of exchange, as well as an investment or asset. Ripple, Ethereum and Bitcoin are just a few examples of cryptocurrency. Because cryptocurrency is not issued by any central authority, such as a bank or country's central banking system, its major advantage is decentralization.

Due to their remarkable rises in 2017-2020, cryptocurrencies are gaining more attention as an investment option. Cryptocurrencies have the potential to grow due to the trend towards financial decentralization, currency digitalization, and other factors such as currency digitalization. Investors can also keep cryptocurrencies as value reserve in the post-COVID low interest environment with inflation expectations.

The buy-and-hold strategy is known as "Hodling". To reap the benefits of long-term value appreciation, buy-and-hold investors will tend to keep their assets for a longer time. Traders, on the other hand, are more active in transactions and seek to maximize their returns by selling high and buying low.

Because of their volatile nature, cryptocurrency offers traders great opportunities to accumulate long and short positions often. However, investors can be more secure by "hodling", as they aren't exposed to short-term volatility, and can avoid the risk buying high and selling low.
