Ripple Labs and XRP are not the same thing, I dont understand why anyone buys XRP, you will never be able to spend it on anything.

XRP is the cryptocurrency for XRP. it is used so send funds. So everyone who uses ripple, including banks, need to use XRP. Thats why it is interesting in a few years if more banks start using. all the XRP that is availible is 99 billion. We are now at 38. When all the ripple is in the market. Guess what that would do to the price ;)

Yes so my point is the banks will use it, but you wont ever be able to use your XRP for anything, while it might gain value on speculation, ultimately its just a bank token.
