Hello there, my name is Michael. I want to start by saying that I am in no way, shape, or form a financial advisor and I ABSOLUTELY put my money into cryptocurrency because of the beliefs and opinions that I will talk about below. I am a 21-year-old living in Southern California after having grown up in the south in various states. I did not attend college, I instead chose the option of going into the industries I found interest in and ended up creating a Social Media Marketing department for a Google Partner Digital Advertising Company and also started putting my money into cryptocurrency with the ultimate goal of retaining or raising the value of the money I was putting away to assist in the funding of the multiple software, apps, music, businesses, and my book that I have worked on for so long.
When it comes to things like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin I think that the most important thing to remember is that when you're looking into cryptocurrency, or really the storage of value at all, you can't fall into the trap of looking at the short-term rises and falls that the currency may have along its journey to mass-realization. The beautiful thing about the Blockchain Technology that powers Bitcoin and other altcoins, is that it is not a person sitting on the other side of a desk calling the shots. There is no minimum for you to move your money over, there is no regulation towards what you can and cannot buy or who you can and cannot buy from. It allows for a complete decentralization of currency, which ultimately is the power that operates the world that we live in. If the power of money is decentralized, the people who hold that currency hold the powers of the world. When you have an intermediary that commandeers and controls the money, they will always call the shots over where your life can ultimately go. The currencies that are based on this technology are based on mathematics, math cannot be tricked, scammed, or convinced to act against its greater nature. It operates the 1s and 0s of the world we live in, and governs the way that we interact with the world, so why should it not also govern the currency we put so much value in as opposed to giving any one person or persons that power?
Although the Bitcoin itself may not end up being the mass currency used, just like Gold is more of the storage of wealth as opposed to a mass-used form of currency, I believe without a doubt in my mind that cryptocurrency will overtake the currency system that we have. The Blockchain Technology that powers it is just too full-proof, and I don't see a world centralized on the internet the way it is today putting its faith in a currency that has only depreciated in value (USD) over history. Maybe it'll be Ripple, since it is more centralized and run by banking systems and people feel more secure with what they already have, maybe it'll be Litecoin with the new lightning technology that allows for almost instant payments, ETH with its massive internet of things interworkings and intricate technology, the truth is there is no way to know. When social media networks were first introduced, the original giants like Myspace barely even exist in today's world. The one difference that Bitcoin holds in the long-term, however, is that all these other currencies are based on BTC and the Blockchain Technology behind it. It is becoming an official currency in Asian countries like China, being added in to massively used peer-to-peer money transfer like the Cash App, and when you really think about how many people actually carry cash as opposed to putting it into a bank that says they have the money but would be destroyed if every bank holder asked for only 2% of their money at the same time. Then you look at the trading of the futures, and BTC's introduction to Wall Street and you have to ask why the people who are against it are so firmly against it? What do they have to lose or gain with the rise or fall of Bitcoin? Do you think those big banks really care about the security of your money, or do they just not want you to take it back? As long as centralized currency is the main means of transfer, there will always be a 98% working to keep the 2% rich with 99% of the available wealth and I don't think that our generation is going to let that slide just like we have "destroyed" almost every other standard of society that was the president when we were introduced to it.
As we watch the governments and financial systems crash around us, as people my age realized there will be no retirement fund at the end, as the internet takes away more and more of the secrets that the powers are capable of keeping, the value of cryptocurrency will rise. I firmly believe, just as many others in and around the industry have expressed, that we will see the day that 1BTC is equal to over $1,000,000 USD and those that were there to help build it will profit from it, those that were not will be able to revel in the awesome nature that it is with its simplicity and openness available for all. I am interested in Bitcoin because I believe it is going to continue changing the world as it has done since it was created.
Why do I put my money into cryptocurrency? Honestly? Because I don't believe there will be a retirement fund waiting for me at the end of the rat race. I think that if I don't do what I can now to ensure that my future is secure, I am going to be struck down like so many that have put their faith in government and people looking to turn a profit when I am old and no longer able to provide for myself. By putting my money into cryptocurrency, it is genuinely because I don't believe the value will hold if I put it in my savings account. I don't trust the government not to collapse and take everything I have. I don't trust the systems we live under because I see its flaws too clearly. You really do put your money into what you believe in, and I believe in my own ability to secure and improve my assets much more than I do someone trying to constantly take from the top of what I have created. I trust in a system that takes something we have put the highest level of value on in our world, and takes away the value of the currency's adjustment out of our hands and puts it into a series of math equations that keep it smooth and operational.
As always, I greatly appreciate the read and I would love to connect and talk with more with anyone that wants to shoot back ideas, and just continue the conversation. I will say, I am more interested in the philosophical nature of the rise, even though I obviously stand to financially gain from simply being an early adopter. If you want to be the guy saying Facebook is stupid and will never take off because "Myspace already beat them to it" having a conversation with Twitter today, then that is most definitely your decision but it is truly my belief that within the next 20 years the concept of using physical cash or it even being an option will be obsolete. I'm sure it'll still exist, but I imagine most people will have deposited all cash into either cryptocurrency or a bank-alternative option depending on the age of the average person (I believe younger people will just gravitate more towards the crypto side due to an inherent lack of faith in our government and social systems and a strong drive to change them). Thank you for your time and I look forward to the potential responses to dive deeper into the conversation
