What's Up Soldiers?

Welcome to the Crypto Revolution. Today we are going to be talking about Lunyr.com website stats according to Amazon Alexa and looking at what they mean for Lunyr in this early stage. Amazon Alexa is not the be all and end all of stats, but it does give us a good idea of the general trends. Hopefully this article will make you excited and hopeful for the future of Lunyr!

I have other videos and articles on Lunyr so check these out at the bottom if you enjoy this one.

It's been no secret that I've liked Lunyr for a while now, and do own some of its tokens. I've reviewed the site, and used it and I think it's great. So, let's check up on it to see whether it's got the stats to back it up.

Lunyr has just passed 3000 articles on the site, which is great news. However I won't be celebrating too hard until they reach much larger numbers. They've got a long road ahead to match Wikipedia's 5.5million articles, that is if they ever want to compete with them. If they want to provide a space for academia then number doesn't mean half as much as quality. Therefore we'll watch what Lunyr does and the direction they take the platform.

In terms of website ranking, Lunyr ranks as 183,617th ranked site in the world, however only 364,015th site in the US. In my opinion thats a good feat, and pretty high up when you think of all the millions of sites out there. I'm pretty surprised they are that high up and applaud them for getting there so fast, however they've got to keep going and try to get amongst the top 10,000 or so, especially for an information site. Information sites should be amongst the most frequently visited on the internet, so lets pump those numbers up!

It is interesting to note that 21.4% of all the traffic goes to the US but its much lower ranked as a website in the US. However it denotes the power of the US based websites across the world. It's also quite interesting to me that the UK (english speaking) and Europe doesn't have any countries in the top 5. However, Lunyr is a more US focussed product at the minute with many US based articles and much less Eurocentric ones. This may be the reason why. Turkey was a wildcard, and I can't think of any reason why it's there. If you do comment it down below in the description.

In terms of the engagement, with an information site you'd expect a high bounceback (where people only visit one page on a website) as people click directly from the search results, read and back out. This explains the 66.8% bounceback, and the average pageviews of 2. The average time spent however is only 2:09 which isn't a huge amount. But this isn't a huge concern because information websites are not ones which people spend huge amounts of time on! So therefore none of these figures shock me or concern me at all.

Coinmarketcap is by far the biggest upstream site, almost 4x more than google. This should hopefully change as Lunyr starts to compete with wikipedia as a global encyclopaedia player. Reddit serves as the third largest, with 3.8%. Hopefully we'll see those google numbers grow and grow, this can't be a niche crypto encyclopaedia for ever!

The demographics information isn't hugely helpful as it only goes off internet averages, and doesn't tell you what those averages are. Some small notes however, are that lunyr is visited on average more by men than women. Higher than average college educated people visit the site, good for any direction towards an academic environment, and more people access it at home. These are all kind of unsubstantial as the actual numbers or percentages aren't there however they do show some overarching trends.
