Ripple is definitely unique and seemingly an anomaly in terms of decentralized blockchain technology. The majority of ripple is held by a central authority and transactions are controlled by the same authority, yet investors are flocking to it like it's a brand new concept. It'll be interesting to see if centralization is truly the future of the blockchain.
