Thinking long term when considering cryptocurrencies is the best way to free oneself of the worries of market volatility.

When you're in it for good, you don't worry about the fluctuations so much and know that the unexpected turns are like most of life's ups and downs.

You learn to take things in stride and keep on pushing!

When you make the decision to become a consistent part of communities such as Steemit instead of seeing the platform as the next get rich quick scheme, you're not only adding value to the community but you're taking the right approach to make the most from your investment of time and effort.

There are many people who are unlearned about the concept and reality of cryptocurrencies, so it truly pays to do a bit of research and become familiar with the terms commonly used in the world of crypto.

For a long while, I was undecided if cryptocurrencies were the thing for me, but after listening to many friends promote the tokens, I became increasingly interested and seeing how Steemit gave me the opportunity to begin without spending a dime, I gladly joined the community!

It's true, you can create an account here on Steemit and start generating rewards from your efforts, whether it be an article on helpful suggestions to newcomers (as I have written in the past), creating an enjoyable meme that others get a kick out of, sharing your hobby of photography, your latest artwork, or most of anything, you can become better acquainted with using cryptocurrencies and get paid for your work!

Personally, I love learning new things and writing out my ideas to share with others on the great ideas I have learned from reading and listening to others speak about topics that have piqued my interest.

By learning, I can help others better understand how things work, and I gain a sense of personal satisfaction from helping those less familiar with the ideas.

Steemit gives me the opportunity to do both of these, I can help others earn crypto while I'm learning more about subjects I'm most interested in, for example, Bitshares has become a subject I want to learn about especially after recently opening Bitshares account.

I want to learn the ins-and-outs so I can help more people become aware of the value of Bitshares.

This morning I watched a DTube from Terry Brock, @terrybrock and Stan Latimer, @stan where they both address the value of thinking long term and help newcomers such as myself understand Bitshares , Bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

You can view the video here: Bitshares, Bitcoin, and Crypto - Stan Larimer Gives Advice

Listening to these two gentlemen helped in reassuring me that I was taking the right approach in my perspective on cryptocurrencies.

I have said numerous times in many comments that I intend on being here for the long haul and that's just what I'll do!

Part of making a long term commitment is learning about what you're committing yourself to, engaging with others, and becoming well versed in the idea, as well as actually using the exchange.

Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Steem help to "eliminate the middle man" and we are able to once again offer our service and products in a peer-to-peer network where we trade with each other without little to any control or outside interference.

I encourage you all to watch the video mentioned above and consider thinking long term as a player in the world of cryptocurrencies.

Also, introduce friends and family that you believe would benefit from using cryptocurrencies to join Steemit by signing up today!

I feel that cryptocurrencies are a benefit to creating more financial freedom in the lives of many! I also see cryptocurrencies as being a game changer in the world of finances long term!

I'd like to thank both Terry Brock and Stan Latimer for giving an informative discussion on the value of cryptocurrencies and in helping me better understand how I can use both Bitshares and Steemit to become more free!

Slow clap. Thanks for seeing the big picture.
I have a post I've been working on that I dedicate to you friend. <3

"Mom-trepreuner" -brilliant! :)

Wow, thanks so much! I truly appreciate it!

Do you recommend purchasing Steem to power-up or beginning by seeking only creation and curation awards while getting a feel for the community?

I definitely recommend using Steem to power up! If you want to invest your own money, by all means use it towards powering up your account!

I'm by no means a financial advisor but that's the best way in my opinion!

Happy steeming! Wishing you all the best in 2018!

Good advice! I sent a friend 50 steem when they worth about $1 each. He now has almost $400! "Normal Money" wont make those kinda gains sitting in your bank.

You're right! I love Steemit because there's so much innovation here and this is a wonderful way to get started with cryptocurrencies with little to no investment!

Cryptocurrencies remain outstanding

Yes, indeed!

Please feel free to share you success stories! I am sure many people would learn from your experiences!

Thanks! I have not seen that video. No gigs today, so I will be watching it! I know nothing about bitshares-time to get caught up. Resteeming! :-)

Thanks for resteeming! It certainly helps those of us who are starting out!

one of the goals behind Steemit in the early days, was to introduce the layman to crypto currencies and generate interest in them.

By being able to earn your own crypto currency (STEEM) without spending a single penny, and then trade that for other currencies, was the vision to get people involved.

it worked for me ;-)

I've now taken out my earnings on two occasions (SBD) and traded them on the exchanges and put them into a wallet. it got me interested. I now have several coins worth around NZ$1900.

I'm going to spend some more time this year researching some lesser known coins and expand my portfolio. For me, this is a longer term investment. I could take my small profit now and run, or leave it to accrue for the next ten years or so and retire on it.

I'm looking at the retirement option ;-)

That's a brilliant idea, in my opinion - introduce others to cryptocurrencies.

I think that formula is working for many.

As I was mentioning earlier, Steemit is a wonderful way to get started with cryptocurrencies. I am lucky to have found this place when I did and am hoping it will gain even more mass appeal as time goes on.

I'm interested in reading what you have to share and look forward to interacting with you and many others in the near future.

I am definitely all for long term investment as it shows in this post.

Yo! ...I see you're South Carolina?! I went to high school in North Carolina, Henderson. YeeeHawww!

Hey, thanks for your comment! I had a family member who worked in Henderson as a travelling nurse! Glad to meet up on here!
