ZCL, also known as Zclassic, is a fork from Zcash. The founder of Zclassic Rhett Creighton, was very displeased with the fact, that Zcash founders were getting 20% of whatever Zcash the miners got. He thought it was very unfair, and decided, by deleting just a few lines of code, to create Zclassic, which is a coin with no rewards for founders. Miners get it all!
So what's so special about Zclassic and Zcash you might ask? Well. They're both using very good technology called zk-SNARKs, which makes ALL transaction private. Vitalik Buterin (founder of ethereum) Has only said very good things about the zk-SNARKs technology.
There is an expected fork upcoming, where anyone who holds BTC og ZCL will get a Bitcoin Private (BTCP), at a 1:1 ratio. What does that mean? It means, that if you hold 100 ZCL, you will be given 100 BTCP!

So what do we know so far about this fork?
1 There is no date yet. But we are close! Rhett said this just today: https://twitter.com/HeyRhett/status/951572052955357186
You can follow: https://twitter.com/HeyRhett?lang=da and https://twitter.com/bitcoinprivate?lang=da for updates.
2 How likely is the fork to happen?
Well, personally i thought this was a risky move, but looking at founder Rhett Creighton and how he is as a person. Very smart and has high morals. So far he has only been saying very good things, and in my mind i am certain the fork will happen. (Not financial advice, do your own research and act accordingly)
3 How can i get make sure that i will receive my BTCP if im holding ZCL or BTC?
So far, there are no given updates. We don't know what sites will support it, but most likely Bittrex and Binance!
A new wallet has been released 8th January, which most likely will support the fork. So if you have ZCL
in that official wallet, you will be given BTCP!! (Stay updated on twitter)
4 How many BTCP will there be in total?
There are in total 3 million ZCL and around 16 million Bitcoins in circulation, so this means, that there will be (in total)
around 19 million BTCP (very low inflation!!). This is confirmed.
5 You can buy ZCLASSIC (ZCL) on Bittrex and Cryptopia. But they have plans to bring it to more exchanges.
6 What happens to ZCLASSIC after the fork?
It is confirmed, that the ZCLASSIC coin will remain and stay updated. But please notice that the price of ZCLASSIC will drop
very hard after the fork, since people only are interested in the BTCP.
What is my price prediction for the BTCP? We'll. It's for SURE a lot better than all the other bitcoins. Bitcoin Gold is around 200$ and BTCP will MINIMUM be 300$ (assuming it will be listed on the exchanges). I think the price for BTCP could even go higher than 1k. We will see.
I hope this helped you. If you have any questions, please dont hesitate to post!
Thank you for sharing some information! I would like to add something:
"A new wallet has been released 8th January, which most likely will support the fork."
-> the only thing you need for the fork (in order to receive BTCP) is your coins on an address for which you have the private key (ie not on an exchange if it does not support the fork). So basically you can also just create a paper wallet (see http://zclassic.org/) to store your ZCL safely.

Good contribution! We need a stock exchange that supports the fork. I think a lot of people will drop their ZCL coins after the snapshot and then you have to react quickly. A new Electrum Wallet for ZClassic was released today. more information on my page.

Does anyone know where to store ZCL now? I heard that electrum will stop support for zcl after March. I know zcl is basically worthless now, but missed my chance to unload, so just looking to store it safely. Someone said the paper wallet is not safe and it is broken. Is that true?

Cryptopia is having issues withdrawing because they have no node connections, as an alternative (obviously for anyone who doesn't have Bittrex) you can buy and withdraw on Traesatoshi.
