New Mum Investing

Hi everyone!

I'm fairly new to crypto so forgive me if this is out of order.

My partner has been harping on about this and that coin for months and over the last few weeks I've finally started researching, in between feeding my newborn. Before researching I thought there were just a heap of coins trying to replace Bitcoin. There were only currency coins and that was it. I soon realised how many great projects there are available and how wonderfully exceptional the tech world is becoming. We have the opportunity to be a part of game changing technology.

I found a few I liked but one especially was Ethos. A Universal Wallet and a Fiat Gateway was probably the hardest part of investing for me. The idea of having many wallets and many exchanges was a bit of a turn off for me and outright daunting. Also living in New Zealand, we are paying a substantially high fiat entry cost when buying BTC. Those three negatives must surely be a deterrent for the everyday new investor.

My process was:

• Creating an account and buying the overpriced BTC/ETH
• Sending the BTC/ETH to the exchange account I've created.
• Trade the BTC/ETH for Ethos/BQX.
• Create a new offline wallet that holds Ethos (erc20 token).
• Send the Ethos from the exchange to the MyEtherWallet (This incurs a transaction fee)

I thought all this was quite ironic when going through the different platforms to invest in the one platform that will do it all.

Ethos will hopefully change the way we interact with cryptocurrency and help it go "mainstream." I have also invested in an ICO called HOQU - a decentralised marketing platform for both merchants and affiliates to interact without the 'middle men' brokers. Before having my baby, I worked for an online travel agency (will not name names at this point), and I have seen the potential affiliate programs can bring to an organisation. I will be keeping an eye on HOQU - March 2018 will see the release of its affiliate/advertiser application.

Moving forward - as I am still getting used to this platform (and also have a 2 month old to contend with 24/7), I am not sure how often I will post.
