Auto-Scalable, Extensible, Private-Centric Blockchain
A Platform for Building DApps for Internet of Things?
Yes, essentially, IoTex aims to be a "platform on which DApps could be build by their users". So, some would say, what's the big deal since we already have Ethereum platform out there and many others on which you can also build DApps. Well, IoTeX tends to improve upon those platforms by providing some unique aspects by which their platform is going to be run. One of the most important ones is definitely so-called Privacy-Centric Blockchain by which their platform is powered up.It allows for the platform to remain private as well as provide scalability, that is both energy efficient and Byzantine tolerant and interoperability at the same time.
Some other aspects include Fast Consensus (RDPoS), which is specifically designed for IoT and supports a lot of nodes with low latency, cross-chain transactions (blockchains within blockchains), techniques for privacy preservation and autonomous device coordination. That is a lot of stuff being packed up into one platform and I'm looking forward to how all of this resolves.
Testnet Preview Released in April: Check!
Testnet preview named StoneVan has already been released back in April. Details about that can be found in this article: https://medium.com/@iotex/iotex-testnet-preview-stonevan-release-4700abfb42d5. The code is also available on their GitHub at https://github.com/iotexproject/iotex-core, which makes the whole project much more transparent and that is much needed in the crypto world. You can have a look at running the demo in the video below.
