My etherwallet was recently phished.
I participated in the Expanse sale of LAB tokens recently......no problem till the following morning when I received an email from the Expanse slack group asking me to follow the link provided to follow instructions otherwise I might lose my funds.
It all looked legit so I did it........not noticing that the etherwallet addres was a .eu and not a .com
By the time I got to my account transactions had been made and my tokens were gone! over 10k worth.
I have been very lucky with crypto - starting back in march with a $800 investment I had managed to grow that to 22,000. An unbelievable amount of growth in such a short space of time.
My feelings have ranged from disbelief, anger, resentment and and regret from clicking the damn link in the first place! At the end of the day I broke the rule and followed a link sent by email.....STUPID.....I know not to do that...but there ya go it happens
I've learnt my lesson the hard way........NEVER CLICK AN EMAIL LINK even if you think its legit ALWAYS check the address
Never enter your private keys, passwords, sensitive data on a website that you were sent via message
ONLY unlock your wallet when you want to send a transaction.
Check your balance via https://etherscan.io/ or https://ethplorer.io/
Do not trust messages or addresses or URLs sent via private message.
I am regrouping and reinvesting my remaining funds into low cost tokens that I believe will do well.....served me well in the past.
I have a Trezor wallet now.......it was in the post at the time of the phising attack!
The address that took my funds now has over 500k in it .....I'm not the only one whose lost here through my own actions.
There must be a way of stopping this? It's a known scammers address...it should be watched and traced or something, somehow when they try moving the funds elsewhere.
EVERYONE BE CAREFUL - LOOK AFTER YOUR PRIVATE KEYS AND LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE - NEVER CLICK EMAIL LINKS
I am going to resteem this Oliver.
Your last post had a reply from Jerry Banfield, he's like a ledge round here!!
