Cryptocurrency is an ugly mouthful.. Crypto is creepy. Cryptozoology is about Yeti and Chupacabra. The UNKNOWN !

Crypto is about spies and codes, CRYPTO is an above top secret clearance (apparently) !?

"so I'm thinking Jo Public will want something with a better mouthfeel" e-cash / ecash - / E-cash

It's possible that we perhaps should also talking about 'New Money' as opposed to old fiat currency, like new media as opposed to newspapers.. similar analogy in all the good ways that the new is better / fairer / revolutionary.

I also thought about BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY (which is essentially the core of all the projects, coins and tokens out there and maybe, it's how we should accurately be referring to this particular sub division of FinTech. It can easily become BLOCK-TECH or shortened to bloctec / BlocTec / Bloc-Tec

any thoughts ? could we have a vote on this ? !! - I've already started tagging with the new tags ;)

an irreverent but quite serious post ! ;)

Call it Steem! :D

like it ! although I'm not sure Steem has the generic edge over 'you know what' coin quite yet.. I think STEEM will seriously mess with Reddit & facebook given a couple more years !!

I like the sound of BlockTec :D

BlockTec - a new electronic Dance act ;) ? maybe

Also Bitcoin needs to either move a few decimal places or come up with a more catchy word than milibitcoin!

Yeah bitcoin has bits.. just like the code that created it. ! 1million bits in a coin is a big number to count out in bitpennies
