does anyone know of a good crypto tracker ?

I'm looking for a crypto tracker ?

I've been hunting around for an android app on playstore. there are loads and most reviews seem to have favoured or endorsed opinions. I want to be able to simply enter how many coins I have of each currency and let it aggregate my portfolio in realtime up and down. I don't need to see profit and losses necessarily. It must support tokens and not just the top 100 coinmarket cap coins. Ideally it will show the lower ranking coins too.

If anyone knows of such an app I would be very appreciative.

I looked at crypto millionaire which has a simple investing theory. That if you own 1,000,000th of the supply of any or all coins in the top 100, any that become successful reserve currencies in the future will make you rather wealthy. I'm not sure many people could afford the $300,000 + investment to ensure you have 1millionth of all the top 100 coins, which will no doubt change over the next year. but anyway what's really good about it is that you can..

..ADD a COIN

then insert how many of that coin you have and it adds it to the list and gives you a total. It's a spreadsheet linked to live prices from coinmarketcap.com that's what I want but also with tokens and lower ranked coins.

any suggestions?

bituniverse is good for tracking. you can connect it via API so you don't need to keep adding anything.

also cryptocompare of course!

thanks @thepassenger. connecting via an API sounds promising for exchange holdings as their prices are not necessarily the same as the average (I suppose they do tend to average out over time). I'll have to look into that. for non exchange, cold storage holdings you should just be able to add manually with an amount... Am I right in thinking I could in theory export a read only API from an exchange so my phone doesn't just become a massive liability ?

I don't know about cryptocompare. I will have a look at that too. Cheers.. I still think I recognise your face from somewhere !

Hey mate! haha you recognise my face because it's Iggy Pop cover from the album "The Passenger" so it's just a little tribute to him :)
Regarding the API, yes you MUST create an API key that gives read-only permission, this way you can rest assured no funds are compromised. About cryptocompare, you can take a look at the use I gave it here: https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@thepassenger/what-if-you-invested-10usd-on-the-top100-coins-1st-january-2017 Let me know if you need more help with it! best!

thanks Iggy. oh there you go, I thought you looked familiar. To be honest it's not the face I'd associate with Iggy Pop, but now you've said it, I can see it. (young Iggy was a bit before my time)

very kind. I will have a read of your article. always good to get user tips ! I think as Steemit evolves there will be a good case for a searchable repository of defined subjects, rather than trawling through google in the hope of finding something, although I must say steemit articles about blockchain related subjects often rank highly. a good tip for emerging crypto writers

yes you are right! now it's really hard yo find content and catalog, but I guess the platform just can get better! Iggy was also a little bit before me but I've seen him live some times! may the force be with you!

Hello @outerground How many of the top coins from Coinmarketcap.com would you like to see listed on CryptoMillionaire? Do keep in mind, the more coins the more data the app consumes and the slower refreshing becomes. It's a balance that I have to keep

I would like the top 150 or 200. I think with the pace of change there are easily a large number of the top 200 coins which are contenders for top 100. personally I haven't found another app which so easily aggregates and tracks my portfolio, which also contains quite a few currencies from the top 100-200. I understand the need for balance. It's your app !! I will hopefully write an article about it soon

Hello outerground, just published an update to the app. Now you will see up to 300 coins plus other goodies, such as charts, prices etc. Morw to come! Hope you like it!

that's excellent dude. I will definitely try and write a review of the app next week when I have some time.

I have an android and i use blockfolio and coinmarketcap app

thank's @babarakas I will have a look at them both. blockfolio looked a bit overcomplicated and I can see that for trading it's really useful. In fact it looks like it's possibly the most sophisticated. I haven't seen the coinmarketcap app. I will take a look. I really like that you can download it and if it's not the right one you can just zap it !

Blockfolio is not as complicated as it seems. It's actually pretty simple. You pick ur coin and it's trading pair, you can also pick the exchange you purchased from. after a day or two of use you'll be fine. Yes that's the best part about these apps you can delete if ur not happy with them.

thanks for the tips. it is appreciated. All I really want from an app is a simple realtime aggregator.. (I put in the amount of coins I hold and it adds them all up & gives me a live price overview).. like cryptomillionaire does but with support for more than the top 100 list and with new tokens too.

What particular coin(s) are you looking to ad to Crypto Millionaire? This is a very new app, we are still experimenting with it and adding features to it. There's an update coming this week-end, we are adding charts and other goodies

that's my kind of comment @cryptoeagle. tokens; ethbits, ppy, csno, ats & popular lower rank coins like Emc2, groestlcoin, golem. It is great by the way. I like the thinking behind the passive strategy and I can't believe other apps don't have a function to just add the amount of coins you hold and let the app aggregat and track them!

to be honest everything in the top 150-200 would be a great addition. it's also much more likely (feelgood) factor that people have 1,000,000th of lower ranking coins and although they a lower chance of becoming a global reserve currency, you can see the appeal of those juicy little green ticks ! :_

If you ever want to commission an animated explainer to promote your app (60-90 second animated explainers are worth their weight in crypto gold) check out my company www.shroomstudio.com

The "appeal of those juicy little green ticks" haha, I love them so yes I can definitely see it :) I'm looking to do a short video for the app but I have to recover some of the investment on it first. It may turn out to be a dud so I'm monitoring it for now. Will definitely come back to you once the money is in. So far numbers and reception have been great so I'm keeping my fingers crossed

well let's see if I can do a write up next week. bump up those installs a bit. I can see the app is ad supported. surely that's quite lucrative if the downloads on active devices goes up. my theory about the green ticks worked out. if you add lower ranking coins to your portfolio list, you get more of the green zing feeling. of course that's tempered with the knowledge that they have a lower chance of becoming supercoins but if you pick new projects carefully, you can back winners ! excellent. I think we could do a really handy promotional animation with screenshots, simulated app experience and using your existing design assets in after effects. when you recoup the money, let's chat. I like the way your logo reminds me of the game monopoly :)
