As we all know, people around the world are currently or quickly becoming dependent on the use of their cell phones for many aspects of their daily lives. Seemingly every industry is trying to grab a foothold in the mobile application realm. The healthcare industry has endless amounts of apps that track heart rates and statistics, provide information on personal fitness, and offer diet plans and holistic remedies. What about actually speaking with a real doctor 1-on-1 through your phone? Do you have an app on your phone right now that can do that? Chances are you do not. There are some parts of the world that are advanced and lucky enough to have this service available. But it is not common to even run into a person in the most advanced places, that can say they have most of their doctor visits from their phone. Telemedicine is the term used for this form of healthcare, and not many people use it. One company that is leading the charge in this sector is named "Docademic".
Founded by Charles Nader and Isao Hojyo, Docademic provides a mobile app that gives you free basic healthcare 24/7/365. The service has been working in 20 Latin American countries since 2016, and are launching in the United States in the coming weeks. I realize all of that sounds great and you might be asking yourself, "what's the catch?" "Nothing is free". Here's how it works, you sign up through the app on android or iphone and make an account. Every month you get 3 medical assistance's that allow you to speak with a certified doctor on a video call. The doctor can treat you as needed, and prescribe basic medications that can be picked up at your local pharmacy, or offer natural remedies that can be found in many places. If you need more than 3 medical assistance's in a month, additional calls can be purchased for a couple dollars. Docademic is also offering psychological assistance's with certified psychologists, however those need to be purchased for a dollar or two per call. It is important to note that all doctors and psychologists are employed by Docademic, this is not UBER for healthcare. These are trained professionals that have real world healthcare experience. The application keeps records of all your history and doctor's can review this information every time you are connected. All of the data is stored on the blockchain, and is used to fund the company.
In Q1 2018, Docademic created an ERC-20 token called "MTC". The token will be used for the market-place on the application, and to pay for healthcare services. It is currently sitting around $0.14 usd, up about 200% from the ICO. It had reached above $0.40 one month after its release, but has retraced back down with the market. All MTC holders are rewarded every month with an airdrop of around 5%.
In my opinion this project was an easy one to believe in. It has been growing since its release, and provides a much needed service to many people in areas that do not have quick access to a hospital. They are currently signing up about 1000 new users per day. It is only a matter of time before telemedicine is an everyday resource around the world. Companies like Docademic are helping to make healthcare affordable and easy to access, I would encourage people to do a little research on Docademic and MTC. The only official Docademic website is https://docademic.com/
Let me know in the comments if you would like to be updated on news and information regarding Docademic and MTC.
Thanks for reading, Outlaw
I found this project too beneficial, human are responsible for their own health but doctors are the ones to help us to treat and prevent possible illness that we might encounter. With the help of docademic, medical consultation will not be to hard for us, we don't need to go to hospitals and wait for our scheduled check-up, in just one click of our phone and open their app doctors can treat us as needed, and prescribe basic medications.

Yes you get it, human are the one who is responsible for their own lives and the doctors are the one who treat us. So what's the purpose of this Docademic? Nothing right? It only wants investors for their project so that they kept on saying that they are a good project or whatsoever. Going to hospitals is much better than trusting an application that doesnt know anything. Doctors need to see their patient on personal so that they can check what is wrong. Like, having medicals can an app do that? can they scan the body of that person? Not right? This docademic only wants attention and profits, it didnt care for the people.

Why not give them a chance to prove what are they really capable of? iirc they will refer you to go to a hospital after they have given you "BASIC" prescriptions because as you have already said they cannot perform some advance checkups with their apps.

I understand your point here but I think I wouldn't prefer such application to trust with my health. I don't want to take risk because I'm afraid it wouldn't work fine like what they plan. But I'm not closing doors with this project.

The app is meant for basic healthcare for people who cannot get to hospitals quickly. It is not meant for serious illness. It is a great healthcare alternative for people with minor health issues. The doctor can see you on video and help to diagnose a rash or help bandage a wound and prescribe basic medications. It is free to use. The doctors on the app are certified doctors, how do you figure they do not know anything?

You say they only want investors? They are not looking for investors. The app has been running successfully for 2 years. Your comments are inaccurate.

MTC is not about Physical examinations. It's about your needs for medication. Like, A medical prescription that cannot be bought in the hostpitals example out of stock. Docademic APP can find a nearest store who has the said medicine and ordered to be delivered at your doorstep.
