Is anyone working on BCH brick-and-mortar POS systems for supermarkets and the like? I'd like to try and convince my local grocer to take BCH but I haven't been able to find any specialized solutions yet.
I suppose in theory you could just use a tablet with a full node for 0-conf payments, but I'm not sure a high-volume store like a supermarket would be comfortable with such an improvised setup.
They might want integration with legacy payment systems too. Though if the savings on fees are large enough maybe they'd try out a simple tablet with a regular client.
Bitpay.com for BCH to fiat conversion in shops. Not a full pos solution unfortunately but eventually there will be full pos solutions or integrations. If anyone one else knows of any I would love to know too

Do you think fees would be cheaper with Bitpay than VISA/Mastercard? I think you need an economic incentive for normie shops to adopt BCH.

The fees are zero apart from the network fee, 1 sat. After you reach a certain volume you need to register as a business acc which is 1% fee + network fee 1 sat. Visa/Mastercard are something like 1 - 3% + hardware rental + payment gateway + support contract.

Interesting. Integration with accounting, taxes etc is evidently not there yet, but it might be worth doing as an experiment. I'd love to hear stories about how the 0-conf system works in practice for a retail store.
