The journey of a cryptocurrency virgin!

So rewind back 2 weeks and I wouldn't have known what cryptocurrency was. I have lived in a world where whatever money you have can be felt in the weight of your purse or the numbers on a bank statement. My brother came down to visit and started to explain to my very confused self what it all was - I had heard of BitCoin before but that was something in the "techy" world and not something I had ever had to concern myself with.

Bless his patience, he finally got me to understand what it was all about....then came the next confusion.....mining! Where do you mine these things from? I have no pickaxe....I really wouldn't suit a hard hat......do you find them underground?!?!?! All sounds like something worth investigating he says, he has spent hours reading about it online and shows me videos of Richard Branson and Bill Gates talking about it....well if they think it is a good idea is it??

Forward on to yesterday and, having maxed out the credit card buying equipment that baffles me it would seem we are going to be miners - do we have to form a union I wonder hmmmmm. Will be an exciting, interesting journey seeing what happens with it all. Bit terrifying too if I am honest - not sure whether we will end up with money or living in a wheelie bin lol.

Figure if I can get my head around it anybody could - will keep you updated with our journey. He is off to build our kit - I am off to find out somewhere to hide the credit card bill!!
