one argument i use for a higher price is the next one. xrp and the ripple network are used (mostly) for international payments. these payments usually are large amounts of money so its more logic to me xrp has a higher value like 50-100 dollars than 0,30 - 0,60 dollarcents so less xrp have to be used with every transaction.
