Maestro is a Blockchain-Based Music Streaming Platform for Artists and Listeners. Unlike other existing blockchain music services that focus mainly on improving established streaming and distribution structures in the music industry, Maestro seeks to address the following issues apparent in today’s music industry by creating a blockchain-based music platform that acts as a creative ecosystem established on virtuous cycles of mutual cooperation between creators and consumers of music.
Issues in the Music industry that Maestro seeks to address
1. The issues of capital associated with Music production, marketing and distribution
2. The issue of outrageous charges associated with streaming of Music by customer
3. The issue of unfair compensation/profit structure for original music writers and artists.
4. The issue of inefficient payment structure for customers.
Maestro’s blockchain-based music platform basically consist of two main parts namely: the “Symphony", a streaming service on the platform, and the "Ensemble", a crowdfunding center, both connected to Maestro's blockchain (an encrypted distributed storage) which stores all music files encrypted on Maestro platform via its smart contracts.
Maestro’s “Symphony” is a music streaming decentralized application (DApp) that handles and ensures equitable distribution of artist music to all everyone across the globe. Whereas it’s “Ensemble” is a crowdfunding decentralized application (DApp) that actively assists all artists on its platform to create projects and raise funds to fuel their projects into success. Aside this, Maestro’s “Ensemble” also secures artists rights and copyright to their works, and manages the balancing of artists accounts and allocation of revenue earned.
Watch out for Maestro’s Symphony mobile version soon
To maximize profits for artists and minimize burdens for consumers, Maestro uses an EOS.IO-based blockchain that does not require any individual transaction fees from any of its users. However, Maestro intends to charge artists on its platform a fee of 10% on whatever earned on streaming for the streaming service, and **3% of the total funding ** amount for the Crowdfunding. According to Maestro, its team goal is to set these fees as low as possible, as such it is hoped that the fees associated with these services on its platform may be altered during operation.
To also ensure ease of transaction and payment on its platform, Maestro has generated an Ethereum-based token called Maestro Token (MAE) which is intended to serve as base currency for all forms of payments/transactions conducted on the Maestro Platform. Interestingly, this token will be listed on well-known and trusted exchanges in the cryptomarket across the globe. Thus allowing everyone (either artists, investors, customers, among others) to successfully convert their fiat currency/Alt coins into Ethereum to make a purchase order of Maestro Token (MAE) and vice versa.
