Is It Altcoin Season? Crypto Market Analysis After The BTG Fork

The Bitcoin Gold hardfork happened last night and we saw an immediate surge in the altcoin markets. As of this post Bitcoin is down 4% at 5,400, and it seems like everyone is going shopping on the altcoin exchanges.

As you can see in the chart above we saw a big jump across the board for altcoins, and most have kept climbing today. A lot of people seem to have taken their profits already and many have leveled out a bit, but over 80% of the coins traded on Bittrex are currently up on the day according to my count, and the volume on the altcoins I watch closely is at least 4x what it has typically been over the last couple weeks. I hope you were fortunate enough to catch some of the jumps last night, but I have a feeling it's going to be "alt season" for at least a few days here before the Segwit 2x fork in a few weeks, and there are still a lot of great buying opportunities out there.
