No they are using cryptocurrency tokens as the primary transaction currency on their platform which is a big step as most apps use local currency e.g. facebook credit.

Oh, that's less exciting. I was hoping for a "steemit: messenger edition" kinda thing going on.

That's the next step, with crypto adoption becoming more popular I am sure it's round the corner.

For sure, I am also hoping YouTube will switch to a steemit like system.

Or a new crypto based video service for that matter.

Steems success will determine how soon we see the transition from conventional content publishing mediums. It's quite unfair that an author creates the content with all the hard work and then Google uses the content to promote and make money without any sharing with the content creator, this is so unfair.

I could not agree more if I tried. Google are scumbags.
