Over Christmas, Reddit user DigitalOrange posted that he would make a Garlic Bread cryptocurrency called GarliCoin if the thread obtained 30k upvotes. In less than 22 hours, the post is at 30500 upvotes, and the planning is underway for the coin.
Current plans include basing the coin off of Ethereum, with a max number of coins at 69million. Pre-release artwork includes a few samples of the coin and logo, each based off a clove of garlic. There are several petitions for naming different aspects of the coin, including the wallet (loaves), the transaction fees (crumbs), a block (clove), and mining (mincing).
In the face of revolution, I whole-heartedly support Garlicoin. There is even some guy in florida who will accept garlicoin and send you homemade garlic bread. What is better than that? (original post)
