Mining Monero on CPU - what are your numbers?

in cryptocurrency •  7 years ago

I'm trying to estimate profitability for mining crypto currencies on CPU and on an 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7 processor, i'm only getting about 130 H/s for Monero.

On my other MacBookProd with i5 processor, i'm only getting about 35 H/s. What numbers are you getting? Any helpful tips that you'd like to share?

I think is not worth mining with CPU, even a good one
Thanks for the post

What about if I had server grade hardware like an Intel Xeon CPU E5-2650 v2 @ 2.60GHz with 16 CPUs?

It all depends of the coin but GPU is still more powerful than CPU

I have 2 Xeon Servers with 48 CPUs. I am running both using 24 threads on monero which averages around 3Kh/s which equals about 0.05 monero/day.

So no, not worth it. Maybe move onto Aeon (@3Kh/s ~1/day) or SumoKoin (@3Kh/s ~10/day)and hope for a spike in value.

what generation is your processor?

The i5 is an early 2015 whereas the i7 is mid 2015.
