I do agree with most of your points. I am invested in neo and Ethereum, just to have some diversification. I do believe they might be competening on a high level soon and one of them will get knocked back hard. I'll give chances of 90-10% 90% that ethereum will thrive and Neo will be knocked back. However in the case of that 10% i don't want all my money to be on ethereum losing a lot and not having gains from NEO to cover those losses. That is my point of view on this relation between the 2.
