This is a very surprising case from a crypto exchange of Brazil who sends a user $35 million instead of $127.
Me : What!! $35 million...Yeah I accept that I am thinking about the luck of that user. But $35 million instead of only $127, that's really hilarious for him guys. Why it not happens with us? Ok I am kidding. Now come to the point and some information about this incident.
According to local news outlet, the crypto exchange started calling the user, Kaique Nunes, about the withdrawal shortly after. Speaking to the news outlet Nunes stated:
“Early last month, I issued some normal withdrawal orders. After a while, Bitcambio called to let me know that they issued all this value and that they needed me to recognize a document in a notary’s office. I thought it was a coup.”
Nunes initially believed that a hacker managed to get a hold of his personal information and trying to get his signature or he was facing a miscreant employee trying to scam users.
And after believing it was fake, Nune initially ignored the crypto exchange. But the crypto exchange insisted the transaction has been cancelled. Looking to learn more about the case Nunes told a Facebook group involved to cryptocurrency discussions in Brazil about the crucible. One of Bitcambio’s suppliers, Name Rodrigo Souza, is reportedly a director in said group, and replying to Nunes identified the exchange’s error.
Addressing the user on his personal page, he descanted that Bitcambio operates within the law, but that faults do happen and they aren’t afraid to draw attention to them. Speaking to the local news outlet, he expressed a bug was behind the large error and that given the size of the transaction and it wasn’t possible to cancel it without a letter of covenant.
Now both are at the first sight working on fixing the problems. Unusually, Souza noted Nunes’ time would be rewarded, stating “Kaique will be reimbursed for all the costs he has to go to the notary’s office.”
The bear market has taken its toll. And most importantly the largest crypto exchange in Brazil, Mercado Bitcoin, fired around 20 employees in this year. This is really a oppressive matter.
In my opinion crypto exchanges are need to more careful in this field. What about your opinion guys? Please tell us in comment box.
