Poland's largest home delivery food web site now accepts bitcoins as a form of payment. With more than 883,000 active consumers and over 5,000 associated establishments, Pyszne.pl announced through its Twitter that it would start receiving cryptocurrency as of this month.

The Polish company wrote on its Twitter: "Do you pay in bitcoins? Discover our new payment method! "

Among the methods of payment offered by Pyszne.pl, in addition to bitcoin, are credit cards, bank transfers, Sofort, PayPal and even Android Pay for those who own the application on their cell phone. The differentiating element offered by the digital currency is that its rates are much cheaper than the other options, making it an excellent alternative to home-cooked food.

Pyszne.pl is the largest website of its kind in the Polish nation, and from there users can order dishes such as pizza, sushi, kebab and more. It is worth mentioning that it was acquired in 2014 by Takeaway.com, which is one of the most recognized worldwide pages for ordering food in continental Europe and Vietnam. The company focuses on connecting consumers and restaurants through its platform, so it collaborates mainly with food restaurants at home, but also offers delivery services for those who do not possess the technical capabilities of shipping.

Founded in 2000, the group has grown rapidly to become the main Continental European market with operations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg and Portugal.

It is present in 10 countries, adding Vietnam, is an ally of 28,800 restaurants and has around 8.9 million active users. In December 2016, it processed more than 4.3 million orders. Pyszne.pl, on the other hand, is the subsidiary that has experienced the most growth, with a 150% increase in terms of market volume.

Although Takeaway already accepted cryptocurrencies as a form of payment through Bitpay since 2013, a year before acquiring Pyszne.pl, it was at the beginning of June 2017 that it would enable the option with the Polish domain. Although, as regards the refunds of canceled orders that have been covered with bitcoins, the company explained that the funds will be returned in euros.

Similar initiatives have already taken place in other continents. Foodler, an online platform that offers home-based service that allows you to find local establishments, look for different menus, and request orders to take without any extra charge, has accepted bitcoin as payment method 2013.
