Hey Guys and Gals!

Today i wanted to touch on something i have noticed going on recently. I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this and what your thoughts are on the topic.

So being the Crypto Newbie i am (getting in Nov, 2017) I have used youtube to learn about the space and what is going on in it. This has been at times very beneficial. Other times its a total waste of time and sometimes even worse. I get the wrong information from a source that is suppose to be some kind of crypto "Expert". Lately however i have been getting away from youtube vids and much of the social media channels regaurding crypto. Here is why:

  1. There is an unbelievable amount of Drama on these youtube channels. Yes i get with the internet comes the trolls. This is much worse though. Now we have channels, The actual content creators themselves attacking one another in what seems to me an attempt to really just get clicks and views. There is nothing wrong with trying to build a following but its rather immature IMO to be trying to gain followers by simply attacking and calling out others in the same space as you. For one we are all this space together. We are on the same team. If you want to go after someone go after the banks and the current systems flaws. They are the real problem.

  2. The community is just so damn sour. Like pre teens on Xbox live. They are just immature and at times downright mean. I thinks it more the childish behavior than anything else that really turns me off. I am sick of seeing "When Moon" and "when Lambo". It was funny at first, ok ok... its still funny but... now it is over played. Ill admit I do get a good laugh still at times seeing the catch phrases of the crypto culture. Don't get me wrong i'm not trying to be a total debby downer. A few strategically placed "when Moon" Meme will still make me laugh, Its nostalgia at this point. I guess the point i am trying to make is at times i wish the community was more mature and more professional and less like a gaming community. It feels like the gaming community grew up and moved to crypto taking the gaming culture, slang terms and behavior with it.

  3. The amount of downright misinformation on social media scares me! There have been a few things i have read or watched on a youtube channel that were just flat out wrong. Much of the tax information surrounding cryptocurrnecy is not accurate at all. Please when you go to file your taxes find a tax professional not a youtube personality to get the information you need.

To sum things up the Social media scene in crypto has really gone downhill in just the few short months i have been involved. The good thing is the less time i spend watching youtube videos is more time i spend doing my own research on cryptocurrency projects. I have been making great progress on the website as well. Anyone who has been following this blog since the beginning knows i have been working that. I will have more information very soon!

What do you guys think? Has the drama gotten a bit out of hand and the behavior of the community or am i just out in left field ranting to myself?

Thanks
