after the fork Monero's hash rate dropped 80%. I think that shows the negative effects ASICs can have, and how ASIC resistance is really a great thing for keeping the coin decentralized and mineable by GPUs.

Im sure there already ASICs mining ETH, so it would be interesting to see what would happen to hashrate for ETH mining if they were bricked by a hardfork. I understand the dev team's reluctance to do anything however, as PoS is coming, which solves the problem in a different way...

things happening very quickly this year, Monero which suppose to be number one for miners become huge risk huge reward kind of thing, it all depends on how long game you want to play.

I think the hashrate drop of the network, is especially the kick of old softwares botnet :p
