Naviaddress is a Blockchain powered ID management software that provides a unified digital ID for any place or object in the real world as well as in virtual worlds. There are a lot of complications that arise from the current systems, but what is even more important is that more than half of earth’s population has no way to participate in these systems. The world is in desperate need for a better solution.
Why do we need Naviaddress?
An address is a representation of a location, which makes addresses a crucial part of our daily lives. We need them to navigate around the real or virtual world. The postal system for example would not function at all without an addressing system. Can you imagine living in a world where you do not receive your mail? A world in which people have no way of finding your house, because you do not have a registered place of residence? That world is a reality for many people. An estimated 4 billion people globally have no address at all. In countries like South Africa, where over a third of the population does not have an official address, this means that over 11 million people are being deprived of basic social rights, because the government services do not have a way of identifying the whereabouts of these people. But that is not the only problem with the current state of the world’s addressing systems. Every country has its own way of doing things. This means that addresses are not uniform at all. There are different languages, some even with different alphabets, the format in which the addresses get written out might be different, the list goes on. There are a lot of flaws with how things currently are. But Naviaddress is going to change that.
How does it work?
Naviaddress provides a way for users of the platform to create their own digital addresses. These addresses consist of anywhere between 1 and 18 digits, this eliminates the problem of the language barrier. Naviaddresses are divided into three categories, namely custom, postal and global Naviaddresses. Custom Naviaddresses can only be created by platform users and represent dynamic objects. They can only refer to one place at any given moment, but can easily be moved to another location by its creator. A postal Naviaddress on the other hand cannot be created by a platform user. It is a pre built, unique, combination of digits that is comprised of existing postal address information and international telephone codes, as such it also cannot be easily moved and is used to represent static objects, like buildings or locations. Global Naviaddresses are given to the user upon registration on the platform. These are for mobile objects, like mobile phones, vehicles, or animals.
The ICO
Naviaddresses can only be bought using NVT (Naviaddress Token), with shorter addresses costing more than longer ones. Through a smart contract on the Ethereum Blockchain the company created 1 billion NVT, of which 400 million are allocated for ICO purposes. After the very successful first two stages of the ICO the project now entered its third and final ICO stage. This last stage will be effective until 31 March 2018. As of March 14th the company has already sold 63.6 million NVTs, which amounts to 74% of all the tokens allocated to contributors for this stage.
Short and sweet
This project addresses a very serious problem and it offers a user-friendly solution. Naviaddress has already partnered up with big companies like Uber, Booking.com and the DPDgroup to realise a fast and successful mainstream implementation of their system.
