Cryptocurrency exchange "Bittrex" will soon start allowing deposits in US Dollars

This will be a big step towards detaching the altcoin market from bitcoin price fluctuations. We've all seen what a drastic effect that has had in the past few days.

Until now, most people are forced to buy a very limited range of coins on Coinbase before sending them to a true exchange with a large amount of altcoins. In a recent interview, Bittrex CEO Bill Shihara outlined the company's plans to begin accepting fiat deposits from most customers in the near future. Hopefully this will simplify the altcoin purchasing process for newcomers and increase mainstream adoption.

Yes, that’s a good thing. Cryptopia exchange accepts New Zealand Dollars as currency. People living in New Zealand don’t have to buy bitcoin to buy altcoins through Cryptopia, because they can diposit NZD in Cryptopia and buy the altcoins directly with NZD.
Other exchanges like bittrex and binance and all others should also accept fiat currencies.

Interesting info/insight then let’s get binance to accept fiat :)

I'm hoping this move causes other exchanges like Binance to follow suit. I've been trying to help some friends get into crypto and the barrier to entry is more daunting than I realized.

True they don’t make it that easy
