IOTA New blockchain technology , A potential bitcoin and ethereum replacement ?steemCreated with Sketch.

I heard about iota few days back while learning about all the coins in the market , this draws my attention as it already the top 10 coins with market cap, their technology is innovative and still follows the good principles of bitcoin but vastly improving some of the limitations of bitcoin.

What is iota ?

Iota is built on tangle technology (DAG Directed acylic graph) , it doesn't have any blocks instead it has like web nodes ( think of a spider web ) , the nodes verify instead of the miners, which leads to infinite scalability and hence no fees for transactions , transactions are almost instant.

No forks

There is only finite number of them available (2779530283277761) just like bitcoins therefore no inflation .

Quantum Proof ?

IOTA uses hash-based signatures instead of elliptic curve cryptography (ECC). Not only are hash-based signatures much faster than ECC, they also greatly simplify the signing and verification process and reduce overall complexity of the Tangle protocol., which makes them quantum proof as well.

Current Valuation ?
It stands at #8 on coinmarket cap http://coinmarketcap.com/
$975,303,822

Where to trade ?
IOTA started trading on June 13th on bitfinex
