Sorry for no weekly update last week, been incredibly busy with both ecom and mining rig building!
With Radeon cards still not being available to the general public, I bought some MSI GeForce GTX 1060 OC 3GB graphics cards and tested them out. They are pretty good ROI all things considered. My total Ethereum hashing power is around 305-315 MH/s now!
Unfortunately, I have to run the cards on a few different computers since I need more riser cards to be able to connect them to my mining rigs. Yes rigs. I have two home-built rigs running now. Here's one of them:
The Ethereum price has fallen a bit since last week, so estimated earnings if I sold my Ether right now, suggests that it will take 2-3 months for the mining rigs to pay for themselves. No wonder everyone and their dog is buying up all the graphics cards, even Nvidia GTX 1060s and 1070s now - prices are rising as I write this and availability is scarce.
Unfortunately I can't afford to buy any more hardware right now, but I enjoy the whole process of building, tuning and learning as I go. Overclocking graphics cards can be a bit of a challenge as well, which I enjoy a lot.
"Why not just buy some Ether or Bitcoin instead?", you may ask. Well, simply because I enjoy the process and the experience, plus I can keep mining even after Ethereum goes to Proof of Stake, since there are other coins out there (http://whattomine.com has a nice overview). I've always enjoyed building computers and tinkering with overclocking. Now I can potentially make money by doing it as well, so it pays for itself?! Awesome!
Altcoins that have caught my attention lately:
QTUM and Ubiq.
Interesting article about QTUM:

Great video intro to Ubiq:
That's it for this weekly update!

GOLD AND HOLD!
Followed. That's really cool, @tommynation. I'd love to build a rig, but all I can find available are little shitty cards, or used cards on eBay that may not even work and they want a new price for them!

Thanks @ancapwarren! The situation is similar here in Europe. Don't overpay for graphics cards! Don't get anything less than RX 470s or GTX 1060s.
