Today Blockchain, famous bitcoin wallet platform has announced it will be adding support for Ethereum.

The move gives the 16 million Blockchain wallets access to the second-highest market cap coin, which is used to power smart contracts on the Ethereum platform. Ethereum has greatly increased these year both in fame and value (almost 4000% these year).The number of transactions on the Ethereum network also jumped from an average of 38,000 per day in January to a new peak of more than 413,000 this month Link.

Additionally, the wallet, available in 140 countries, now integrates the crypto-to-crypto exchange Shapeshift so users can easily trade from bitcoin to ether and vice versa.

Blockchain isn’t a centralized exchange like Coinbase or Kraken. It is simply a wallet so that you can safely story all your cryptocurrencies. Compared to many services out there, Blockchain is more secure and more difficult to hack.

Peter Smith, Blockchain's chief executive explained the reason for the addition in his statement:

"As popularity of ethereum has grown, so has the desire from our customers to have the option to manage multiple digital >assets within their blockchain wallets. He also explained the idea behind blockcahin:

The move is an indication that bitcoin won't be a universal cryptocurrency against prediction by some analyst because blockchain has remained focused on bitcoin for a while now since its establishment in 2011.
