Welcome to the first of the new TRBO updates!
As the community grows across channels - Twitter, Telegram and Discord we've realised that not everyone gets to see and hear about the latest updates regarding TRBO. So this regular* update will keep everyone abreast of what's going on.
*frequency tbc but roughly weekly is the plan
Let's start with a recap of 2018 and what was achieved:
- "Community takeover" initiated in July 2018 (note: no ICO, no premine, no presale, no development funds)
- Growth of the community from single digits to: 1,600+ Twitter, 1500+ Discord, 350+ Telegram
- Block explorer - https://www.coinexplorer.net/TRBO
- 3x new staking pools - https://www.stakecube.net , https://staking.world , http://pandabot.fatpanda.club/
- 3x new exchanges - https://www.xiphos.exchange , https://www.altilly.com , https://www.myspeedtrade.com
- 2+x tracking sites - https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/turbostake , https://coinlib.io/coin/TRBO/TurboStake
- 2x faucets - https://faucet.trbo.cc , https://www.stakecube.net
- 2x custom Discord bots - TRBO DJ (music) and TRBO BET (gambling)
- Team expansion
- Initial platform development
- Roadmap (more on that below)
- Complete rebrand - name, visuals, social identities
- New wallet development - the first for 3+ years (more on that below)
- Plenty of giveaways and competitions to win TRBO to help spread the holding base
All of this during a terrible bear market for crypto which has seen many projects and coins abandoned, some with notice many without. The TRBO team however is as committed as ever to continued development of the community, the coin and its use case(s).
The roadmap and wallet update are interlinked. We released the roadmap in October on the assumption that a new wallet would be ready shortly after. The aim was and still is to maintain the existing TRBO chain, to remain true to the original development that has stood the test of time over 3+ years (a lifetime in crypto). But TRBO has had uncertain times over that period and some of that affected the quality of the blockchain - strange blocks and more. So it's taken time to go back through 3 years and almost 600,000 blocks and update to the latest code. It's finally done - the code is now working smoothly, the wallet sync takes as little as 20mins (vs half a day currently). But we're still working on a wallet compile, debugging and testing ready for release.
The focus on the wallet took our eye off the ball on the whitepaper and website, which outline TRBO's use case. The use case has not changed but it's not an easy one to explain so we want to get those right too. It's not as simple as saying "charity" or "currency" or even just "crypto" as is the case for many coins, so bear with us. It's coming and we believe will help to differentiate TRBO from a majority of other coins out there.
Near term priorities for us over coming weeks/months are:
- Finalise and rollout the new wallet across exchanges, pools and users
- The updated wallet will facilitate our listing on https://aiodex.com/ (we already won the vote but they require updated code to list). And subject to further discussion also https://bitsahani.com/ (exchange) and https://gorain.me/ (pool)
- Rolling out the new branding across exchanges and pools (alongside the new wallet)
- Winning the vote for Cryptrade DEX https://cryptrade.io/vote?symbol=TRBO (go vote!)
- Mobile wallet beta release
- Whitepaper and Website
- Continued TRBO platform development
We're also working out the details of an airdrop/TRBO distribution event - watch this space for more details.
As always, we are a transparent team and open to discussion and feedback. So fire your questions, concerns or ideas at us across any of the communication channels.
Here's looking to a great 2019 for TRBO.
