Freedom. We all want it, need it, and deserve it. Freedom stands for something greater than just the right to act however we choose—it also stands for "giving everyone an equal opportunity for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". source
Mankind has come a long way in civilization from the times of complete totalitarian governments and cruel monarchies who ruled with an iron fist and couldn't be questioned. Now we have democracy; people have more liberal room to express themselves socially, religiously and even sexually.
Unfortunately, these heights of "freedom" cannot be honestly claimed to be achievable in ALL parts of the world. Some governments for reasons best known to them have chosen to suppress the freedom of their citizens. This suppression is done in several ways.
It may be economic (e.g. harsh trade regulations, bans of goods, foreign exchange limits), social (e.g. Arab governments denying women the right to drive, North Korean government releasing an approved list of hairstyles citizens can use!);
It may be religious (e.g. Brunei government banning Christianity, Chinese government shutting down churches);
It may be sexual (e.g. governments outlawing same-sex marriages), and so on.
The blockchain has been proven to be a powerful tool in disrupting any and every institutional system and industry. By harnessing the power of a community-backed consensus, even governance can be decentralized. This is what Bitnation offers.
Bitnation is a blockchain platform that aims to provide a digital decentralized, borderless and voluntary environment which anyone and everyone can join and create governance models.

Bitnation draws on the concept of the earth's geography and is thus governed by the "Pangea Jurisdiction". As we all know, it is believed that in the early stages of the earth, there were no continents, but only a single massive land mass(Supercontinent). This large land mass was called Pangea. Pangea is believed to have been in existence before the continents broke apart during the Triassic and Jurassic Periods.
Bitnation's Pangea stands for the concept of "one world, one community". This is why Bitnation is described as a Decentralized Borderless Voluntary Nation (DBVN). Bitnation's Pangea is presently powered by the Ethereum blockchain although it is designed to be blockchain agnostic. In the future, other chains such as Bitcoin, EOS and Tezos will be integrated.
Bitnation combines different technologies to create this Holocratic Governance structure that functions with its own Constitution.
These technologies include smart contracts, peer-to-peer mediation, the ability to create your own Holons, and invest or donate into Holons, Projects, and different parts of Bitnation's own Infrastructure depending on what matters to you. source
The word Holon means something that is simultaneously a whole and a part. This refers to the dynamic architecture on the Pangea platform that allows created governments/communities to function independently and also as a part of the entire Pangea ecosystem.

This will allow easy resolution of disputes. Users can choose their arbitrator. The use of arbitrators with expertise in the particular field of dispute ensures fair and efficient judgment.

On Pangea you can create your own Decentralised Borderless Voluntary Nation (DBVN).
