Exciting news from the PIVX team! (Zerocoin protocol, PIVXfans, Ledger support, meetups & governance)

There’s a lot going on with PIVX and if you’ve been following me you may have read some PIVX related posts from my hand lately because the good stuff just keeps coming. The PIVX team is doing a great job on so many levels and I wish that I would have gotten on board months ago. Thanks to @beachbuminvestor I finally did recently. PIVX is one of the few cryptocurrencies that I’m really enthusiastic about because there is so much potential, so here is yet another post about them.

Every now and then the team posts a video where Bryan a.k.a. Snappy talks about recent events and things to come. It’s a really good way to keep everyone posted. Today the team released a new PIVXpress video in which Bryan highlights some updates and milestones. Let me break the updates and milestones down for you:

The implementation of the Zerocoin protocol

PIVX implemented the Zerocoin protocol for the first time ever in a Proof Of Stake coin. During testing everything went well, but when it got released there were some unforeseen issues. These issues are currently being tackled. Everything is going as planned when using their latest RC3 version of the wallet and a new final version will be released pretty soon! This will be a major game changer when it comes to privacy!

Become a PIVXfan and earn PIV

PIVX started using Fancorps in order to start PIVXfans! I’ve written a few times about this recently because it’s just so damn cool. When you sign up on the platform you can execute simple and fun tasks and by doing so you can earn credits which you can then exchange for PIV! The team feels very strongly about their community and this is a very good way to give something back to all of us. It’s a win-win situation for everyone who wants to become a part of it. Ledger now supports PIVX on their Nano S and Blue hardware wallets

Very recently Ledger released the software for their Nano S and Blue hardware wallets to hold PIVX. The best hardware wallet just got better with the addition of PIVX. I’ve written about this as well very soon after it got released. Be aware that staking from a Ledger device is not possible right now though but it’s great to know that support for this is on the PIVX roadmap.

Meetups

Community members often arrange meetups which are a fun way to get to know each other and talk about PIVX. Or talk about anything else of course. More and more are popping up all over the world and it’s great to see this happening.

Governance

In Slack there’s a governance channel in which everyone can participate and talk about governance and proposals. PIVX is working its way to implementing the first community designed governance model which hasn’t been done that way before. Very interesting!
