Beginner's Guide- What is Cryptocurrency? Part 1

in cryptocurrency •  6 years ago  (edited)

We definitely heard alot of coins that's on the market.

Bitcoin, Onecoin, Swisscoin, even now MacCoin.

So this post is about explanation on what actually cryptocurrency is

and i will try to make it short and simple to understand =)

First of all,

Cryptocurrency = Cryptograpy + Currency

Cryptography

Cryptography means something is 'coded', which only the party in the circle can understand it.

Like how a group of students cheat in an exam.

For Example,

BoB and Alice made an agreement that

'Raise thumb =A'

'Pull ear = B'

so in an exam only both of them can understand the code,

the rest of people only saw Bob pulling ear and raise thumb but never know

what it is stand for.

This explains cryptography.

Currency

a.k.a the money we using now, as an media of exchange.

So if they're joined together,

it is more like 'encrypted money'

Whereby the trustless environment is created as long as we agreed to the 'rules'.

Who decides the 'rules'?

For the money we using right now, it will be our government.

For Bitcoin wise, it is blockchain.

Ok, i will stop the explanation until now first, will continue furthermore in part 2.
