BitClave vs Presearch: a blockchain pre-sale and ICO discussion

in cryptocurrency •  7 years ago  (edited)
Read about the journey of both the projects! Their token offering is going on at the time of this article.

Located in Mountain View, California, BitClave is comprised of a big team. The CEO, Alex Bessonov, almost seems to manage a diverse team similar to the one he would have handled in his earlier job of being the Chief Security Officer in LGE. The team consists of people from academia, a line of developer, scientist, architects, and advisors. In short, the team overflows with knowledge.

Registered in Canada, is Presearch. Led by Colin Pape, a team of people, most of whom worked in a previous successful venture called ShopCity.com have come together to build this project. Having the acumen of working closely with the customers, this team shows some good experience in handling customers. Apart from the technical and marketing side, a community builder is also part of this team.

That's all with team introductions. Let's look into how these companies compete with each other - starting from pre-sale to the near future!

Pre-sale of Presearch:

Presearch was the first to start pre-sale of its tokens to the public. The transactions happened within closed doors, with only e-mail communications facilitating the exchange of BTC and ETH addresses, and token details. Presearch deals with BTC and ETH for its transactions, and buyers of its tokens are expected to transfer the amount from their wallet (and not from Exchanges).

The face-off:

On July 25, BitClave started its pre-sale at 07:00 am EST, while Presearch went on with its ICO (which is the second stage of its token sale) from 10:00 am EST. Besides the commonality in the date, these two companies have a common interest too - the Internet search business.

BitClave associates its business model to deal mostly with the advertising market and also has its first use-case - car dealership industry. The use of middleman in such trade is eliminated and customer directly gets to search, rate, and purchase the cars. Presearch considers its future plans to benefit the Internet users through a search engine, built with user searches, that initially seems to pull off results from existing website like Google, DuckDuckGo, Facebook, Twitter, etc..,.

Decentralized Internet Search:

The common theme of both is Decentralization - Taking the accumulation of Internet search results away from single big companies, distributing the data (or maybe meta-data) over the blockchain, and spreading the benefits across the globe. In line with spreading the benefits, both companies are inclined towards offering the users who makes search queries, some incentives in the form of their respective tokens.

Security of BitClave:

As I mentioned before, BitClave is comprised of many people from academia. Most members in the team hold a strong background in Security. Then isn't the sale expected to be secure enough? Yes, the BitClave pre-sale is, as far as I have seen, a complex security package! The transactions people send are shifted to multiple accounts and people would find it difficult to track. BitClave has provided the investor with a Dashboard, with login credentials, through which purchases happen, and people can view their transactions recorded immediately there. BitClave differs from most of the other fund-raisers by also accepting payments through exchanges like Poloniex and Coinbase.

Communication:

In interacting with people and maintaining communication at its best, Presearch leads. They have posted more advertisements that are up-to-date with the ICO trends. In BitClave, Alex sends regular e-mail updates and responds to questions posted. But the frequency and number of interaction visible publicly is higher in Presearch. The community in Presearch seems to be strong and activities continue happening even at the time of token sale in the Slack group. But in BitClave, certain community pages were blocked for users to post, after scammers started posting unofficial cryptocoin addresses, asking for payments. In short - Presearch offers public support 24/7. BitClave and team responds to comments in the Dashboard and Intercom.com.

The niche in pricing of BitClave tokens:

BitClave fixes the price of its token, CAT, based on real-time ETH and BTC prices. The number of CAT tokens offered for 1 ETH and 1 BTC varies separately based on the market value during that purchase. All these details are provided in the Dashboard. BitClave doesn't mention anywhere about the sold tokens and its worth.

Presearch percentages:

Contrarily, the website of Presearch provides the percentage of its sold tokens in the website. But, the percentage is not consistent and sometimes can been seen varying in its value (i.e) moving from 99% to 87%. Such behavior was observed almost thrice at the time of writing this article. The reasons could be - varying ETH and BTC prices affecting the cap, clearing of inventory, software glitch or any other.

Overall:

  • BitClave - is yet to unleash its mysteries
  • Presearch - is yet to prove its technical acumen

I have been searching for a comparison between the two ongoing token sales - BitClave and Presearch, and never came across an article that discusses the differences. Hence this article. Why is bitclave coin deposit address not visible on EtherScan?

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

@koreaico I think if you invested, you can find only your investment in the ETH address provided to you. BitClave allocates one new address to every individual. And is sort of following a method of moving deposits to multiple addresses. I believe this is part of the security effort to prevent events like the recent ICO hacks in other fund-raisers - Example: CoinDash ICO.

Thank you @vinesh. I agree with your description of Preserach support. They answer fast via email or in Slack. Another thing to add to your comparision:

BiClave ICO is not available for US residence, while Presearch is.

Hi @tarekb Thank you for your support! Yes, BitClave isn't available to U.S. citizens during the pre-sale but it seems to be available in the ICO round - the second token sale event in upcoming months. I understand that this wasn't clear from the instructions. Please refer to the comment in this link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6v5dTV2F8ZQ&lc=z121hx0xerescvnxx04cdtubut3fjjmpq5g.1500704102542636
