My guess is that banks are very much afraid to break regulations by offering crypto wallets and/or do not want to reel in the Trojan Horse. I see more opportunities for new online banks that appeal to the younger public.
Small amounts of Bitcoin and Ethereum are being doled out during Blockchain conferences held by the Big Four as we speak, giving higher class people their first hands-on experience with cryptocurrency. It is spreading and at some points, banks will have to make a move or be left in the dust.
Agreed, I think the future is going to be on the few big currencies that get adopted and rest get left in the dust. I can only imagine at some point, maybe not this lifetime but the ultimate goal would be to get to a global dollar.
