"Following the presentation of a drafted bill to place regulations on the usage of cryptocurrency in Russia on December 28, a list of approved cryptocurrency trading platforms is being developed by the Russian Ministry of Finance. Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseev has indicated that the government is seeking to provide greater oversight."
"Also Russian President Vladimir Putin has asked Russian officials to develop Russia’s own in-house cryptocurrency, the ‘cryptorouble."
"The U.S. and E.U. have responded to Russian violations of international law using economic sanctions, which prevent the Russian government and organizations and businesses around the world from using the U.S. or European currencies and banks to conduct transactions. A Russian cryptocurrency could allow the country’s government to subvert these sanctions."

Russia under Putin has always looked at ways to strengthen itself - in 2004 Putin kicked out the world from stealing its natural resources up until then Russia only received 20% (if it was ever released) of all natural resources taken - after 2004 they kept 100% - Putin has been buying tons of gold the past few years and has backed its currency with it - it only makes sense that he is looking at crypto currencies to by pass the sanctions placed on him by the globalists
