CryptoKitties Give-A-Way~~~~Virgin Pair

in cryptokitties •  7 years ago  (edited)

If you don't know what the big deal about CryptoKitties is let me be the first one to tell you.

They are a game on the Ethereum network that helps users learn smart contracts, MetaMask and the Ethereum network as a whole.

Many people are having trouble purchasing CryptoKitties and there are all sorts of false rumors that they are messing up the Ethereum network but reality is they are a smart contract and that means they are different than just sending Ethereum back and forth to each other. They are also hosted on an auction site found at Cryptokitties.co and it allows users to understand how buying items with Ethereum is different than just pushing buy. There are different functions on the network that will allow buyer B to win the item even though buyer A made the purchase first.

Why does this matter? It does and it doesn't, when buying kitties that fact doesn't really matter but do you want to learn the Ethereum network when it is something really important that has life changing benefits or repercussions or messing around with a novelty game? Smart money would learn to use the network playing a game and not later when it is an important item trying to be purchased.

Here is your chance to learn, this is a single event and the winner will be gifted both of these virgin CryptoKitties from my personal collection.

Entry Rules. Upvote this post, Resteem and tell me what item you hope to see on a network like Ethereum in the future or the type of items you think Smart Contracts are most valuable for.

That's it.

There will only be one winner

Good Luck.

Oh goodness, I wish I was smart enough to have an appropriate & qualifying response to those questions, but I feel as if I'll not have an educated answer until I have one & learn more about the network! Total catch 22.

Maybe I'll get some learning in before the event ends. I have checked it out, but the "cat" that would make me invest is way beyond my means.

Grats to the winner! I'm already stoked for you & thanks for such a generous giveaway. 😻

What do I think will be the future, do you mean other than a token for every cyber club, group, and project? Well, I think there will be a crypto bank. Yes, a centralized bank not run government or power house, but some sort of witness like program. To facilitate exchange between various currencies

I think you're in luck my friend.

Worlds first decentralized bank. You can get into their ico here

An auto exchange between currencies and fiats would be cool now so many could sell at a single location for max benefit, nice answer.

Smart Contracts and the Insurance industry will be huge in my opinion.
A claim can typically take weeks to months to complete and the process is done with manual human interaction. The claims process in its current state is a factor in insurance premiums due to the cost associated with filing claims manually. Streamlining and automating the process with smart contracts would reduce insurance costs and the process time for claims. Triggering an automatic execution of the contract based on pre-agreed terms would reduce time and money involved in processing a claim.

@rawdawg What would they have to do in order to make the final process of insurance claims work better on Smart Contracts? Would it lead to higher premiums?

Smart Contracts would lead to lower premiums for the consumer as the cost of processing claims would be reduced. This has been tested on a small scale already, the company AXA is using smart contracts for flight delay insurance.
http://www.businessinsider.com/axa-turns-to-smart-contracts-for-flight-delay-insurance-2017-9

IMHO, if smart contracts are successful in smaller areas of insurance such as "flight delay" we will see wider adoption as firms begin to catch on to smart contract capability.

Good info, thanks for a real world example

I want to see crypto-Pokemon. An ICO for a rare Charizard. That would be neat.

crypto waifus are better, pokemon, sheesh, no originality...hahaha

Is a free world. I think someone somewhere has already married a Pokemon.

You have to Hope that Nintendo see some profit in doing this.

They would sue everyone they could. Good luck with that, Nintendo.

@ertwro get your mind out of the gutter.......

LOL. Ok. Want me to go serious. I want to see an inheritance contract. There are notary functions being tested like OpenStamps by Peter Todd. Nothing really good at the moment.

That would be outstanding, this could be really good if contracts end up border-less.

I think there might me an evolution of the cryptokitties. Maybe a mechanism to allow some sort of interaction with them, to increase their stats or something like that. Then a way for them to compete against each other in some sort of game.

That would be awesome, right now the only option is to pimp them.

I'd like to meet the maker of this CryptoKitties Game.

What Item I would like to see on the Ethereum Network:

Personally, I would like to see Photographs being exchanged or auctioned - wherein One can transfer the Copyright of a photograph. Would be good for auction as well.

CryptoKitty Wallet Address: 0x8b9aeB3aaC88F59d7441216dD37BcB98bf8a6B79

@prakashghai That would be pretty amazing, I assume you mean digital rights?

I am saying transfer of copyright.. so some photographers can make it exclusive and sell high.. digital rights are worth pennies.. like shutterstock give $0.25 per download.. If I can see the origional for $50 base auction price or something

Alright, that clarifies it. Good idea, I think.

Cats transferred with an extra virgin for my not timing this game correctly, enjoy.

Thank You :)

With the way how things are going right now, I believe that crypto-banks are an inevitable future. With real a time market fluctuation follow up etc.
Keeping in mind that actions related with a cryptocurrency is a very time sensitive thing and people are still experiencing difficulties with transactions from the "ordinary" banks when trying to make a cryptocurrrency purchase and this is unacceptable.

0xc5a1de57cdc609eefc70ccd47cd0867f2e6e1d02

@gretum That would be great but would you really want all money tied to an unregulated market? What laws would you suggest to make a crypto bank safe from shill bidders and pump and dumpers?

Not all but rather the amount you are willing to use for actions with a cryptocurrency. As they say - it is never safe to have all eggs in one basket ;)
Regarding laws, well that is the question a bit out of my expertise sadly. But I am sure that there are plenty of people who would have viable suggestions on the matter.

I suggest not even keeping all your eggs in the same country to be honest.

Good point is good.
Btw on the fun note, I really hope to see CryptoBunnies on the Steem one day ^.^

Bunnies sound like they would produce faster, lol

Lesser waiting times ;)

Yes, and steem network can handle it too

I would like to see all Government contracts and positions on a blockchain type system. Kind of like the witness program where people can be replaced on the fly with a huge list of waiting recipients to take their place. No more 4-5 years of screwing us, over 1 bad vote. But behavior and ability gaged on a daily basis under the watchful eye of concerned citizens.
That might keep things a little more honest, and the good people would stay till retirement.
Cheers

I've been trying to buy a Kitty for days with no luck, plus losing coin on failed transactions. What a frustrating system. It's like shooting in the dark. LOL

Happy Holidays 🎅 🐈🎄🐾 🍻

@steemkitties That would be good if there was a way to keep it so people only were able to make one vote per actual human and it was based on number of people and not weight of vote as is how it is here on steemit. A witness here can have 5,000 votes that don't equal 1 vote of a difference witness.

On a public voting system, there would have to be a way to identify a person through a process of some sort. and of course, no vote would have any more weight than another to work.
But new and exciting things are being created daily.
Cheers

Omg omg, I wan't to have one of these heavenly cuddly little delights. Owning two will just blow my mind away to the farthest galaxy we haven't even discovered yet! Upvoted, resteemed and followed!

The possibilities of smart contracts are endless, and that is what makes the future of this world and its people so bright and glorious. Fiat is passe, as we've come to realize. As for what I'd love to see implemented on ETH and through smart contracts, there are a ton of options from influencing and managing social reputations of entities to having crypto banks, to insurance that could be possibly great to have on the blockchain. But one I'd closely want to see implemented is charities, where transparent donations are recorded on the network and executed through smart contracts, donors can be incentivized to donate more and the generation and distribution of wealth could support innumerable people across the globe.

0xaabffa953b4c0ada0fc0812cad51f3d18decf786

@ igsamuel Amazing answer, I would also like to see charities on the transparency of the blockchain. Imagine if all political donations had to be done on the blockchain as well as their spending of said account.

Thanks for this explanation.

I have no idea what smart contracts are so I am off to go and research this as soon as I have written this comment! :)

I'd like to see something like The Sims as a crypto game!
That would be MEGA cool. hehe

@ashleykalila is that your final answer?

No.
I change my answer.

After diving into Smart Contracts, I can see a few things pop up that I would like to see.
Crypto games are fun but hey, there is SO much more that can be done with this.
How about checking if the goods being sent to countries that really need them, are they really the goods they are? Or are they medicines that have gone way past the expiration date and will do more harm than good?
I can see Smart Contracts really helping the charity sphere because nowadays the news is coming from one centralized space and with the help of technology, the ever-growing increase of people using the internet, this means that we can actually ask the people on the receiving end of the charity if the goods they got are really up to par.
:)

Yes, there is indeed so much more that can be done with smart contracts but I think the learning curve needs to be learned early. People are having so many issues not knowing how to even just purchase a cryptokitty. It would really suck if they had to try and learn on something as important as you have described.

Do you think the process is going to be simplified??

I am sure Crypto-Brokers are already making a killing in every city.

Thanks for the information. I followed, upvoted, resteemed.

Thanks a lot for the info. I'd love to see more games that work with the ethereum network. Hopefully Cryptokitties are the start of a new tendency that grows and gets better with time.

@nubellorona Do you just want to see more games on the network or games through the network?
I read your answer and instantly thought it would be cool to buy Game downloads over the network like one would from the Playstation store. What do you think of that idea?

I really want to see CryptoUnicorn and uni-coin 🦄 😜

@nelyp there is @slothicorn I will be blown the fuck away if it doesn't soon have it's own coin or at least a SMT

LOL

Ethereum Network looks pretty powerful.
I know this looks like Just a stupid collectible game, but imagine How things like this Works as a Showcase If what can bem done with cryptocurrencies.
What i would like to see with ethereum Network is sites like eBay, uber, Airbnb start to do some real world testing with the cryptos.
The New sharing economy is a fertile ground to increase the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies.

@phgnomo Who would decide who is wrong during disputes? Also how would the money be refunded, total crypto coins spent or total dollar amounts?

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Well, a few days Ago i translated the steemit bluepaper, (through utopia.io project) and there were an interesting point that called my attention:
You could transfer your tokens to a third party that would be responsible to check If both ends of a deal were done. And then transfer the funds between the Trading parties.
There is still a lot of improvements to be made, and a lot of issues to solve, but we Will get there.

I just think of deals I have seen done on eBay where a box with rocks is mailed back to seller and eBay refunds the buyer, who indeed did get the purchased item.

That is the trustless part that Will be hard for Any blockchain to solve...

Damn, I was hoping you had an idea, I had over looked.

Hoping for more fun and addictive games like CryptoKitties!

@yoghurt I do agree it is highly addictive but geez do we blow through some money

Everyone's talking about bringing crypto to mainstream, but they usually mean random everyday people. I would love to see it make it to the mainstream business instead. Real contracts making their way to be made eternal on blockchain. People getting their paychecks in cryptocurrencies. That kind of stuff :)

@consider sounds like a good idea but would you be happy if your paycheck was instantly worth 40% less due to exchange trading? How would they fix this issue and is that fair?

It could also be 40% more :) For a start, it would be optional, not mandatory, to get paid in crypto. And the prices in fiat aren't so solid either - I can go around my town and see the exact same stuff being sold in a way wider range of prices.

Don't we all want 40% more, lol.
I am not sure if I would want my job being able to see my wallet. It is an interesting idea none the less.

We can have as many wallets as we want, so... :)

it's very differend idea for me. But very nice.

I'm pretty much new to all things crytpto, but I'd like to see health insurance smart contracts!

Seems there would be a benefit there.

Interesting that you posted this. I'm actually dedicating myself to learning more about the blockchain, the attendant tech and uses, etc. I have no idea of an answer, but thanks for this awesome idea, because all the answers here are adding to my growing body of knowledge. :)

send me a cryptokitty please, I have no one now: :(
