Most of us have heard about CryptoLockers, and know how devastating they can be. Locking al your valuable files, in the past there was only one option to unlock them; paying ransom money (bitcoin) in the hope you would get the decryption key to unlock your files.
The general advice is still not to pay the ransom. By sending your money to cybercriminals you’ll only confirm that ransomware works, and there’s no guarantee you’ll get the encryption key you need in return.
But then what are you going to do when your valuable files are locked up, and maybe also your backups are encrypted cause you keep your NAS connected or your USB backup drives? Or what if you are a small company that lost crucial files, and doing a roll back would cost you lots of time and money?
Help is on its way:
Well lucky enough the "counter attack" on those CryptoLockers are more and more successful, companies like Intel Security and Kaspersky Lab have therefore made some tools available to decrypt your encrypted files due CryptoLocker Ransomware. Below you can find the links to the tools.
