It's 2:08AM here in Los Angeles. I have a pre-production meeting in 8 hours, and I have to shoot all weekend. Yet, I'm awake. Because there is a dip in the crypto market. This is probably the 5th one I've endured, so veterans, please correct me or add to my advice. SO. WHAT IS A DIP?
a DIP is when the value of your digital asset takes a dive, plummeting towards the ground at breakneck speed and you think you're losing half of your life savings and you begin to contemplate why you were put on this earth.... (this is a screenshot of RIGHT NOW.)
...followed by a sudden fear or thought of losing everything. Your brain says, "SALVAGE WHAT YOU CAN" and you of course say "YEAH! IMA SELL!" Boom. That.... was me. I lost half a bitcoin in 12 minutes during the bitcoin cash fork because I got scared. Can't fool me twice though. This is me now:
So, technically bitcoin is STILL dippin... it just hit $8160. Hang on, I gotta buy in a little (not a lot... slow and steady). Alright, I'm back... and its back up to $8300. Nice. Anyway, now that you know what a dip is, let me show you some perspective. Change the way you currently think about what's happening.
Here's a picture of this week:
Now that's quite a dip if you ask me... 600 Billion to 400 Billion... DANNGGG SONNNN! But that's just 7 days. what if it were a longer period of time?
This is a year chart:
We went from a few billion dollars to 800 BILLION DOLLARS in one year. HOW ON EARTH IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE/SUSTAINABLE? OF COURSE its gonna go back down. But... it.. always. goes. back. up.
I watched Ethereum plummet from $300 to $80 at work one day. It's sitting at $850. It hit $1400 2 weeks back.
I watched NEO (used to be antshares).. fall from $40 to $8.. right now its $99. It hit $150 the other day.
I watched litecoin go from $24 up to $60.... then right back down. Now its at $116. It hit $330 in december.
I watched bitcoin go from $2200 to $5000. Back down. Back up to $10,000. All the way up to $20,000. Then to $15k, now its at:
Hold up, gotta buy. BRB.
Alright, bought that dip. Now, that answers the next question. WHEN does it dip? Answer: NOBODY KNOWS, and ALL THE TIME so get used to it.
Next Question: WHAT to do DURING a dip?
Simple. It's like black friday and you're the only one in the store. with a 3 ton production truck from Paramount Pictures with a crew of people ready to take whatever you want back.
But Seriously... This is what you shold do. Go on reddit and you band with your internet brotherhood at /r/cryptocurrency /r/bitcoin /r/ethtrader and DO THESE THINGS.
WISH EACH OTHER GOOD LUCK AND SEE YALL WHEN ITS OVER.
Here's a post of a fellow brethren wishing us good luck, and hopes you don't crumble under the pressure:
Here's a fellow brethren that could benefit from that post:
OFFER ENCOURAGEMENT.
MAKE LIGHT OF THE SITUATION WITH MEMES.
This dip got me like....
Or, FINALLY.... PRETEND ITS NOT EVEN PHASING YOU.
What you DON'T want to do is scare everyone off by saying Antartica is banning mining. Or China. Or wherever in the world they are banning the internet or shutting down electricty. Essentially thats what theyll need to do if they want to get rid of it.
NOW. The only reason I would ever tell you I'm going to ban mining or shut down an exchange, it is to SCARE YOU SO THAT YOU SELL YOUR CRYPTO. Then I buy your sales. Easier than convincing people to buy bitcoin I'll tell ya that. Whenever someone says anything about the news I ignore it. It doesnt affect my decision to believe IN THE TECHNOLOGY. It's my investment, I'll do my own research. Thank you very much.
Don't try to prove to the world how soon its gonna go back up or what the resistance levels of the TA you learned from youtube. Don't draw me a chart because NOBODY KNOWS. This is the most accurate chart. Follow this one:
Yup. Seems Legit.
I actually find the dips really interesting. My cousin and I literally sit back during the dips and relax. My portfolio drops $35,000 but I don't even break a sweat cause I know it's gonna go right back up. I always tell him, anyone who sells and gets scared should NOT be a bitcoin/cryptocurrency holder anyways. If they get scared that easily on a price drop... its better that theyre gone. AFTER THE BIG DIP, you'll know who's the real deal or not. Who's the one thats gonna be holding on with you. Every single person I know (I've met at least 5 people in the past month and a half worth over 10 million dollars). Every single person who bought a house with bitcoin, started a business with bitcoin, etc. They DID NOT GET THERE BY SELLING. Again.... THEY GOT THERE BY HOLDING ONTO THEIR CRYPTO. $5 a bitcoin nearly a decade ago? If you can hold that. You deserve the 15k it grew to. If you were around when it was worth that much, you fought for me. for all of us. We have it easy. We shouldnt get scared from a little dip.
This is what this dip will look like in a year chart next year:
There's always a million "reasons" why the market dips. Theres also a reason why crypto is a world currency and when it goes up.. it GOES. Wonder why they call it going to the moon?
cause in a linear graph, it goes straight up!
If you look at it from a LOG graph.. you'll understand that this works exponentially. If I had a Cryptonauts token, it would start at .001 of a cent, then .01, .1, then 1 cent. then 10 cents. 1 dollar. 100 dollars. a thousand bucks. ten thousand bucks. SOUND FAMILIAR? That's bitcoin's journey folks.
Here's the same graph in log form. See what I mean? Makes sense right? We hit 800 BILLION.. that's a win in my book. Awareness, people are using it more, its great. What's next? of course the marketcap is going to hit a TRILLION.
Cause at the end of the day, a year from now - no matter if you're starting right now.. you'll be just like this lady here.
So that's what a dip is. They happen all the time, and I think the other side of the world is waking up so they'll prob thank us and buy the low prices.
Remember, a dip is shopping season! Happy Holidays!
