$731 Million Worth Cryptocurrencies were stolen in first half of 2018

This report is Based On Blockchain Security Firm CipherTrace. $731 Million Worth Cryptocurrencies were stolen from exchanges in first half of 2018.

In Year 2017 the stolen amount was $266 Million. 2017 was Golden Year for Crypto. In half Year of 2018 the amount is nearly 3 time more than 2017. Half year is still remain.

We also know that first half of 2018 was not so bright for Crypto.

The Two Biggest loses are hacks of $500 Million in "Coincheck hack" in Japan and $40 Million in "Coinrail hack" in South Korea. Both exchanges stored very large amount of Crypto in their Hot Wallet. Which are always in risk and online connected with internet.
They didn't stored in cold wallet which are offline but safe.

Koichiro Wada (CEO Coincheck) said in interview to Bloomberg.

“We were aware we didn’t have enough people working on internal checks, management and system risk. We strived to expand using headhunters and agencies, but ended up in this situation.”
