Panda.
Less than 2,500 specimens in natural habitat. This is the disheartening figure that sums up the present and the future of the panda. This species, originally from southwest China, is a symbol of the fight against deforestation and illegal hunting, and only recently the Chinese Government has agreed to design an action plan for its care through the establishment of protected reserves.
