A good and very important question that I saw popping up in an investor e-mail was the following:
βIs there somewhere I could buy a basket of cryptos, or a mutual fund type of thing with a few quality cryptos that would not be difficult to do and that would be safe?β
Not now, but probably very soon! Several exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that will buy cryptocurrencies are now waiting for official approval.
As soon as theyβre released to the public, three things will happen:
First, youβll get an easy-to-buy fund which owns the best cryptos.
Second, billions of dollars will rush into these ETFs as they tap into pent-up demand from investors like Jackie. (The same thing happened when the first gold ETFs were launched years ago.)
And third, all this new money could drive cryptocurrency values through the roof.
So the best time to buy is precisely when itβs NOT so convenient for newcomers; before these new ETFs come to market!
Do you agree? Or would you prefer to wait until thereβs a cryptocurrency ETF available? What are the important pros and cons of each approach?
What do you think?

I think institutional trading will ruin crypto to an extent, just like it has with commodity trading. Crypto was meant to be a peer to peer means of trade, not a quasi-stock market.

There are ruining it for us (retail investors) not for the overall players.
But I would agree that Cryptos were supposed to be P2P

It is better not to wait the ETF before investing in crypto.

Yup! Excellent point worth stating and considering. Thanks for posting this. Yesterday I saw the article that Coinbase added BAT (Basic Attention Token) to their retail accounts, and I immediately sold 0.05 BTC for ~ 1,000 BAT. Hope to do this for EACH coin which hits Coinbase into the future. A coin added to Coinbase has the advantage of BOTH the "nod of approval" by a proper exchange, AND usually added when at a low price. I mean, $0.31 for BAT is an even better bargain than Steem right now (~ $0.80). Get Γ©m while they're hot!

Totally agree, 1Q, but no later than the 2Q of 2019 we will have crypto ETFs focused on Bitcoin.
