ELEAGUE Main Qualifier Day 1
What an exciting first day of Counter-Strike! In case you missed it, the first day of the Qualifier is over and we have reached the second stage of the qualifier. Eight teams are going to Boston, challenging the so-called "Legends" - and you definitely don't want to miss any of that.
What I watched
In this paragraph, I am writing about what the highlights were for me and maybe what I could take away from it. Also, you can find what matches were the most exciting and you should definitely watch if you have time.
Sprout vs. Space Soldiers
This game was exceptionally exciting for me, with Sprout being a very newly formed team, and also the clear underdog going into the game. The fact that the first half ended Sprout 6 - 9 Space Soldiers could have made me lose hope a little. But, as you know, everything can happen in Counter-Strike.
On the T side, Sprout stood their ground and managed to close out the game 16-11. Their tactical, methodical approach to the game resulted beating the more straight-forward one by Space Soldiers.
You can watch the game back here_(twitch.tv).
Definitely a game to watch if you like underdog-stories.
Flash Gaming vs. G2 Esports
What a start Flash Gaming had. Unfortunately for them, G2 managed to take back control of the match with their very dominant T side and won the game 16-11. It is not clear if Flash Gaming, a relatively unknown team who attended the Qualifier instead of TyLoo, another Asian team who unfortunately couldn't make it to Atlanta.
Still, the Asians managed to put up a fight against G2 and managed to keep them on their toes in the first half. Here_(twitch.tv), for example, is a clip of one of Flash Gaming's players with a very nice play against 4 of G2's players, all of which are considered world class.
It is really nice to see that Asia slowly starts growing its Counter-Strike scene and more good teams are showing what they can. I am looking forward to watching them!
What next?
So this is it for now. The new matches have been drafted and I'm hoping for some very close match-ups. Until then, let's discuss and don't forget to tell me what you thought about Day 1 of this Major Qualifier! I am really looking forward to all your comments!
See you tomorrow for some more Counter-Strike action,

Thank you!
I hope so. I have some exams coming up that I need to study for, but I should have time to write some about the CS happenings. I plan to post content even after the major ends btw. :P
