Solar Power for home, shed, and emergency power part1
So just how do we turn sunlight into one thing we could utilize? And exactly how can we rely on it when it’s only available through the day?
Solar photovoltaic (or PV) is ways to convert sunlight into electricity. Whenever light photons hit a solar panel, they excite electrons free, causing a charge to develop.
These solar panels tend to be set up on rooftops, integrated into building or auto-mobile (MotorHomes).
Newer low-cost panels being environmentally friendly to make, thin, as well as versatile, so we could generate electricity from sunlight in most types of places we couldn't before.
Our importance of power to power our contemporary economy is obviously increasing - but with sunlight available, and right technology to harness it, we’ll keep the lights switched on.
Emergency Power, if you live in an area where, you get power cuts fairly regularly then a solar generator back up for lighting is a away, to help, or if power downs happen allot .but there is many different things to think about.
Firstly solar energy is great if you live off the beaten track or are thinking about building a home out in the country and it would cost a huge amount to get mains electric connected, then solar system is possibly for you.
The first thing to consider is do you have a South facing Property or land where a south facing solar panel array can be put.
without south facing it would be impossible to have a complete solar system.
Some parts of the world have more sunlight for more hours and that makes it more effective, but any part of the world has daylight and can be built to accommodate what we do have.
I live in Scotland so do not have a lot of sun, but is still ok
The second thing to consider is cost, It sadly at present is NOT COST EFFECTIVE to make a decent emergency back up system,
but for me it was more about emergency backup and I wanted to build one ,more on that in a next post.
Chat more about this soon in part2
