He was supported by opener Brendon McCullum, who scored 31 off 22 balls, and all-rounder Ben Stokes, who scored 22 off 14 balls.

The CSK's bowlers tried their best to defend the total, with Lungi Ngidi and Shardul Thakur picking up a wicket each, but they were unable to stop de Villiers from steering his team to victory. The GT reached the target in the 19th over with five wickets in hand.

Overall, it was an exciting match with both teams putting up a good fight. De Villiers' innings was undoubtedly the highlight of the match and earned him the player of the match award.
